The Republic of Indonesia is a Southeast Asian nation and member of the ASEAN. The country comprises about 17,508 islands and share land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Being closer to Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Philippines, Palau, Australia and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country worldwide, with more than 255 million inhabitants. In Indonesia there are more than hundred spoken languages, but the official and most widely spoken is Bahasa Indonesia. Its official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).
